An interactive introduction
This month the SISC Working Group meeting will be led by Dr. Heather H. Mangelsdorf, a faculty member at Elmhurst University. R software it is not only used in academic settings, but many large companies also use R programming language, including Uber, Google, Airbnb, Facebook and so on. This free, and open sourced tool is critical for those who want to engage in rigorous equitable research, conduct translational studies, and apply their academic skills outside of university or research settings. Dr. Mangelsdorf will provide a primer of data analysis basics by manipulating common data structures.
"The goal is to turn data into information and information into insight." ~Carly Fiorina, former chief executive officer, Hewlett Packard.
